Croatia Airlines, the national flag carrier of Croatia, announced an expansion of its direct route between Tirana and Zagreb. Starting this July, the airline will increase its flight frequency from two to three weekly flights – operating every Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday – offering more flexibility and convenience to passengers. The seasonal route, which was successfully introduced last year, continues to serve as a key connection between the two capitals during the busy travel season.

Return tickets are available starting from €143 through the airline’s website: www.croatiaairlines.com.

During the 2025 tourist season, Croatia Airlines will operate flights to 30 international destinations across 31 European airports, offering over 18,200 flights and more than 2.26 million seats, marking an 18% increase in capacity compared to 2024.

Marija Pavić, Sales Director at Croatia Airlines, stated:

“Last year, we introduced flights between Zagreb and Tirana with two weekly frequencies. This year, we’re adding a third flight on Tuesdays starting from July. The Albanian market shows great potential – not only for passengers traveling to Croatia but also for those using Zagreb as a transfer hub to other destinations across Europe, such as the UK, Germany, Switzerland, and Scandinavia.”

The Croatian National Tourist Board emphasized that Albania is becoming an increasingly popular destination for Croatian tourists.

Renata Dezeljin, Member of the Croatian Tourist Board, said:

“Albanian travelers are more than welcome in Croatia – a country offering stunning coastlines, over a thousand islands, rich gastronomy, warm hospitality, and a year-round tourism offer.”

Croatia Airlines’ presence in Albania supports growing tourism and business ties between the two countries, while also complementing the significant growth of Tirana International Airport (TIA).

In 2024, TIA reached a record 10.7 million passengers, and this trend continues upward thanks to the airport’s ongoing transformation.

Piervittorio Farabbi, Chief Operations Officer of Tirana International Airport, stated:

“This is an important moment for TIA. With more than 50 airlines operating year-round, the growth continues. We are expanding the terminal to welcome up to 15 million passengers annually and extending the runway to meet rising demand. We are committed to providing passengers the best possible experience.”
