New flight Tirana–Memmingen begins, operated by Wizz Air

Tirana, 4 August 2019: Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, launched today a direct flight between Tirana International Airport and Memmingen, in southern Germany. An Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft will be used for this route.

The new low-fare route will operate with a convenient schedule of two weekly flights, on Wednesdays and Sundays. This flight will bring truly affordable travel opportunities for Albanian passengers.

“We are delighted with the new service operated by Wizz Air. This will be of great help to many Albanians who live in or near to Memmingen, and will offer new opportunities for tourists to explore Albania more fully,” said TIA Chief Executive Officer, Dr Rolf Castro-Vasquez.

Memmingen is an attractive town in Swabia, Bavaria, just north of the German border with Austria. It is the economic, educational and administrative centre of the Danube-Iller region, and lies on the River Iller, which marks the Baden-Württemberg border. The town is a tourist destination in its own right, having many cultural and historical attractions.
