Ryanair record growth for aviation in Albania

Ryanair opens its base at Tirana International Airport with 4 aircraft (USD 400 million investment), reaching 4 million passengers annually and delivering over 50% growth compared to the previous year.

Summer 2026 includes 44 direct destinations, 21 new destinations, over 3,000 jobs supported.

This development is supported by the strategic investments of Kastrati Group, enabling infrastructure improvements and increased operational capacity at the airport.

According to Michael O’Leary, Albania is the fastest-growing aviation market in Europe, with further investments aiming to reach 6 million passengers and 60 destinations in the coming years.

This milestone reflects the steady progress of the aviation sector and the role of the airport as a key hub for regional and international connectivity.
