Tirana, 23 December 2025 – Wizz Air, the leading airline in Albania, continues to strengthen its presence at Tirana International Airport with a significant expansion of operations for the Summer 2026 season, supported by the allocation of an additional aircraft at its base.

As part of the Summer 2026 program, Wizz Air will launch four new routes from Tirana, further expanding its network and enhancing connectivity with key tourist and regional markets across Europe. The airline will introduce a new three-times-weekly service to Tallinn (Estonia), operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with the first flight scheduled for 22 June 2026. A new connection to Alghero (Sardinia) will operate twice weekly on Wednesdays and Sundays, starting 24 June 2026. Flights to Palma de Mallorca will commence with two weekly frequencies on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 23 June 2026, while the new route to Radom (Poland) will begin on 25 June 2026 with two weekly flights on Thursdays and Sundays.

Alongside the launch of new routes, Wizz Air will significantly increase frequencies on several high-demand destinations from Tirana, responding to strong demand during the summer peak season. Compared to the previous summer season, frequency increases include:

  • Tirana – Milan Malpensa: from 21 to 23 weekly flights
  • Tirana – Stockholm Arlanda: from 4 to 5 weekly flights
  • Tirana – Malmö: from 3 to 4 weekly flights
  • Tirana – Turin: from 11 to 12 weekly flights
  • Tirana – Trieste: from 2 to 3 weekly flights
  • Tirana – Athens: from 7 to 9 weekly flights

These capacity increases are made possible by the allocation of Wizz Air’s 15th aircraft at its Tirana base during the Summer 2026 peak, allowing the airline to improve schedule flexibility, increase seat availability, and better serve both outbound and inbound demand during the busiest travel period.

In total, Wizz Air will offer 5.6 million two-way seats for the Summer 2026 season, supported by operations with 15 aircraft based in Tirana during the summer peak. Between mid-June and mid-September, the combined impact of new routes and increased frequencies will add 120,000 additional seats, further supporting tourism flows and strengthening Albania’s connectivity with major European markets.

Salvatore Gabriele Imperiale, Corporate Communications Manager at Wizz Air, said:

“Albania remains one of our key growth markets, and this expansion underlines our long-term commitment to strengthening connectivity and making air travel increasingly accessible. By allocating an additional aircraft to our Tirana base, launching new routes, and increasing frequencies on some of our most popular services for Summer 2026, we are offering our customers more choice and convenience while further enhancing Albania’s connections with key European destinations. Let’s Wizz, Tirana!”
