Tirana, 9 September 2025 – Tirana International Airport (TIA) together with Wizz Air, , proudly announced today the airline’s largest-ever expansion in Albania. This milestone further strengthens Wizz Air’s market-leading position in the country and highlights the close partnership between the airline and the airport.
Starting from March 2026, Wizz Air will base its 14th state-of-the-art Airbus A321neo aircraft in Tirana, enabling the launch of four new routes to key European destinations:
Alongside the new destinations, Wizz Air will also increase frequencies on four existing routes from Tirana:
With this expansion, Wizz Air will operate 57 routes to 17 countries from Tirana, offering more choice for Albanian passengers and strengthening the country’s connectivity with Europe.

Since the start of its operations in 2017, Wizz Air has carried over 19 million passengers to and from Albania. Today’s announcement reaffirms the joint commitment of Tirana International Airport and Wizz Air to making air travel even more accessible, sustainable, and enjoyable for all passengers.
