Important Notice for Travelers – European Summit, May 15–16, 2025

On May 15 and 16, 2025, due to the European Summit taking place in Tirana, significant road closures are expected in the city and surrounding areas. These disruptions may affect travel time to Tirana International Airport (TIA), so travelers are strongly advised to arrive at the terminal at least 4 hours before their flight.

Additionally, airlines may implement schedule changes during these dates. Please check your emails and SMS regularly for any updates from your airline.

To ensure a smooth and stress-free trip, complete your online check-in and keep your boarding pass on your phone. TIA recommends all passengers to be well prepared to avoid delays and enjoy a hassle-free journey.

Update from March 1, 2025 – Travel without a printed ticket to the Schengen area

Starting from March 1, 2025, passengers with an electronic boarding pass on their phone can travel from Tirana International Airport to Schengen countries without needing to print their ticket anymore!

How does it work?

  1. If the airline offers this option, make sure your electronic boarding pass is on your phone.
  2. Scan it at the security checkpoint and at the boarding gate.
  3. Travel faster, with no need for extra paperwork!
