Tirana International Airport (TIA), today, December 19, 2022, registered its five millionth passenger.

The figure of the five millionth passenger was marked this end of the year when Mrs. Florie Gjoni arrived at TIA for the 14.10 flight with British Airways, bound for Heathrow airport.

To mark this important and unique achievement, TIA representatives and British Airways staff surprised the lucky passenger at the check-in counter by gifting her family tickets to one of the destinations offered by TIA.

The 69-year-old teacher, was traveling to visit her daughter who lives in the United Kingdom.

She could not hide her emotions when the TIA staff informed her that she was the selected passenger. Mrs. Florie rarely travels by plane, but this moment will surely remain in her memory for a long time as one of the most special ones.

Even this year that we are leaving behind, TIA has performed extremely well in relation to the increasing demands of passengers by offering more than 65 destinations.

Passenger traffic this year marked an increase of 80% compared to 2021.
